Material Donations

What we accept. We accept clean PLA waste (including printed parts, support material, purges/poops, unused filament) and spools (empty or with unused filament). Waste should be free of dirt, adhesive, paint, food residue, metal, and other plastics. If you're unsure whether something is PLA, ask before sending or don't include it. We may refuse or dispose of material that isn't clean PLA. Please don't send hazardous material of any kind.

Donations are voluntary. Plastic waste given to ReSpool is donated voluntarily. Nothing is owed to you in exchange, and donating does not create a sale, consignment, or storage arrangement.

Donated material becomes ours. Ownership of donated material transfers to ReSpool when we receive it. We decide how it is sorted, processed, stored, or disposed of. Donated material cannot be returned once received.

Refusal. We may refuse to accept a donation for any reason.

No guarantee of use. We aim to recycle all donated waste, however we cannot guarantee that any particular donation, or any portion of it, will end up in a finished product. Material that is contaminated, degraded, mislabeled, or otherwise unsuitable for processing may be recycled through other channels or discarded.

Rewards Points

How points are earned. Registered members earn 10 points per kilogram of accepted waste plastic received, and 1 point per empty spool, plus any bonus or credit we choose to offer. Points are credited after we receive, check, and weigh your donation. Your member number (RS-####) must be conspicuously displayed on or in the package to receive credit. Weight recorded by us is final.

Points have no cash value. Points are a promotional benefit, not property, currency, or a gift card. They cannot be redeemed for cash, sold, traded, transferred between accounts, combined across accounts, or bequeathed, and they may not be purchased.

How points are redeemed. Points may be exchanged for discount codes at the rate shown on your account page when available. Each code is single-use and applies to the order it is entered on.

Misuse and abuse. We may suspend or close an account, void unused codes, and cancel points if we reasonably believe the program is being misused, including misrepresenting donated material, or repeatedly donating contaminated or unusable material.

Account closure. If you close your account, or if we close it for misuse, unused points and unused codes are forfeited.

Changes to the program. We may change earning rates, redemption values, or program rules, or end the program entirely, at any time. We will give reasonable notice — at least 30 days — before a change that reduces the value of points you have already earned.

Errors. We may adjust point balances to correct clerical or system errors.

Product NotE

Our recycled filament is made from post-consumer material. Color, finish, and mechanical properties vary between batches. The material is sold as-is and we cannot guarantee suitability for any particular purpose. Although we screen material carefully, recycled filament may contain contaminants, and it shall be used at the customer's own risk.
